Hello I thought you might like an update on some of our September Activities. We enjoyed two theme days with food to match ! We had a Greek Day and a Mexican Independence Day. One of the cooks really enjoys the challenge of the different recipes she is given for these themed days. We enjoyed Greek and Mexican music as well and enjoyed movement to the different styles of rhythm.
We continued our theme for a Sensory Activity with Sight this time having already covered Smell and Touch. Twenty objects were shown to everyone and then in turn each lady or gentleman tried to remember the items that were under the cover. Everyone remembered at least one item many remembering almost all of them ! (I had to have a peek as I forgot some items on the tray !)
Flexibility wise we enjoyed Strike a Goal, Throwing Rings and exercising from our chairs to beautiful music.
Two very special dates to put in your Diary...On 9th November the Henfield Girl Guides are coming along to hold a Remembrance Day Service in the afternoon and Valerie Manor Staff and Residents are taking part in the BBC Children In Need Appeal... watch this space and look out for the posters and Sponsor Forms !
Bye for now, Robin (Activities Coordinator)
