A number of our residents have been asking me to get a bird table for the gardens at Valerie Manor ever since they enjoyed watching birds feed from bird feeders that they made with Activities Coordinator Robin back in February. So as soon as we had a sunny weekend recently we went out and bought a bird table and a bird bath which now have a proud place in the garden.
We thought it would take several weeks until we saw birds brave enough to come and feed from it but already we have seen a variety of small birds including a little Robin! When the weather is nice the residents will be involved in changing the food and water but for now they have been watching out of the windows and the photos of the birds will be displayed downstairs soon for all to see (the residents will need to tell me what the birds are as my knowledge is limited). We hope to see several more soon but look forward to seeing our 3 little friends on a regular basis!
