We were
recently successful in gaining planning permission for an extension to Valerie
Manor which is great news for the staff,
residents and families. This provides the opportunity to extend to enable us to
have nursing beds at the Manor and create an improved environment externally for the residents and their visitors.
We will still
remain a small home with 23 beds in total
and will have a conservatory for the
residents to enjoy should they not be able to go outside. The residential home
as it is will remain mostly unchanged with the beautiful study and lounge area
that the residents and visitors love. The building will be in keeping with the original
17th century building and existing
extension and will remain on the ground floor with a drop in level to ensure
the courtyard and gardens will still benefit from the stunning views over the
South Downs.
I do hope that the
residents will continue with their art work
so that we can fill the new corridors with bright and cheerful paintings that
have been designed and created by the residents themselves as the canvas that
Marmalade is working on looks fantastic already!
If anyone does have
any questions about the extension then please do not hesitate to contact me to
have a chat or see how you can become involved!
I will update you when I have more information on timescales.
