Well it certainly was a hot June wasn’t it! Our lovely ladies and gentleman were donning sun hats and were being splashed all over with sun cream and being encouraged to drink like fishes by our lovely carers!  Many opted to stay in our cool lounge although still enjoying their choc ices and lollies!

We started Wimbledon fortnight with balloon tennis... we had a couple of Williams sisters there and one of our male residents proved to be a match for Andy Murray!!  The dining room was decorated with tennis ball and strawberry garlands for the duration of the event.

We enjoyed an Italian day with themed food and quiz. Two birthdays were celebrated in June.  Helen, our lady from Scotland, thoroughly enjoyed her DVD surprise treat of ‘Scotland from the Air’. June, a passionate dog lover and artist was delighted with her artist set and book on breeds of dogs.

We exercised to music, played Target Bean Bag, Musical Hats and Giant Snakes and Ladders... this covered some physical exercise.

We thoroughly made a mess in the dining room making fresh flower arrangements... sorry Steve... but we did clear up before lunch was served!

To cover some Mind Bending activities we enjoyed Four Word Phrases, Animal Groups, Analogies and guess what...... we’ve written another Valerie Manor Poem!!!... soon to be on display.

Happy Summer,  bye for now
