Steve has come to love cooking at Valerie Manor and asked some months ago if he could become a full time cook here. He has been assisting me for some time now in developing the menus and ordering the food each week and so this seemed a natural progression especially with the increase in cooking hours that we are planning with the extension. In preparation for this, although Steve has his 3 year certificate in Food Hygiene he was keen to get some qualifications under his belt to support this new role. Steve enrolled with City College Brighton and Hove and has already commenced his Food Processing and Cooking NVQ. I am extremely proud of him and think it shows great enthusiasm and commitment to the new role – you can see Steve here with his cheese scones, I must say, I was very impressed they tasted delicious. We wish Steve all the best for the course and look forward to sampling more of his food!
